Penny Dreadful Lost Angeles is Dreadful...The main fault is a major lack of authenticity. You have to ask if John Logan did any serious research into Spanish idiom, culture, language, etc. Somebody needs to tell him that no self-respecting Mexican would talk like any of the characters in this movie. The acting is sluggish, the direction sub parr, all the Mexicans sound and act White and while the photography is good, the show overall looks like a made- for- TV movie from the 80's. And to the director, producers, show runner: thanks for finding a leading man who looks like he came from a high school casting call.
