Uniquely crafted history of World War II that I've watched many times, with every watch reminding me of the scale of the war told from many perspectives. Unlike modern WW2 documentaries there are no historians giving accounts of what happened; having been made in the 70's there were many people alive to give first-hand accounts. Polititians, ordinary civilians and service personnel from all over the world are all heard.
Each episode covers a huge amount so don't expect a fully comprehensive account of every part of the war, but as others have said the tone and presentation of it is second-to-none. A gem of British television.
