A good story doesn't necessarily make up a good film. This film is a perfect example of how a poor and wannabe screenplay and dialogue writing can result in a blunder. The scenes are too stretched and the dialogues are too over-the-top. The dialogue writer tried to look cool by adding punches of "philosophy" but in turn the film falls flat on it's face. It seemed like a writing from a filmschool student, trying too much.
Screenplay writing is a subtle art of balance. But most of the writers screw it up.
If you're an average film buff who don't understand the difference of writing between "Gangs of Wasseypur" & "Mirzapur" and think these two have "similar" writing, then you can go watch Sherdil as you might like it thinking it's an art film...even though it is anything but art.
