Excellent adaption of the Inspector Gamache series. It isn't a perfect, by the book retelling but still fascinating. Gamache is brooding , philosophical and empathetic...but most importantly he is ethical . Orphaned as a child , Gamache is sensitive to tragedy . Alfred Molina is outstanding as Gamache and inhabits the character. The story is difficult to follow at first but quickly settles into a moody, evocative mystery.

Lovely book. Details the life of a young man, orphaned at birth who becomes the head gardener at a great estate in Great Britain. The prose is simple yet beautifully detailed. If you are a gardener or simply enjoy them this book is for you. It is a tale of how the seasons unfold into years and the gentle appreciation of nature . Very enjoyable read without the crash of drama .
