Ok this series has been brilliant so far, I’ve been on the edge of my seat, desperate to know where we’re going and what’s happening. I’ve cried several times and screamed several more. It had me googling how likely this scenario is, with such a plausible and believable backstory to the outbreak. I thought I could see how this was all going, it’s like a clever version of resident evil, with the hopes it gives and the focus on survival, only with the added interest of clear character development that was teased throughout. But then that all changed…. Episode 3… wow. Absolutely incredible acting, incredible writing and incredible directing. The details- that song, the meals, the wines, the shirt. It was just so beautifully done. I was taken on a journey with the characters, one filled with love, empathy, compassion, fear, sadness and ultimately peace- all in an hours episode. The depth and arc of the characters and storyline was just so fantastically done. What an episode! I was sucked into their little bubble, completely forgetting about the disasters of the outside world. I was not expecting this from a zombie series, it shows real potential for the rest of the series, that it’s not just a one trick pony and will be different from other outbreak/zombie franchises. I think I’m gunna love it for a long long time!
