I have been looking forward to this film since I heard about the release and it did not disappoint. Everything was well researched by the production crew and the film gives a realistic account of the historical narrative. This was a seminal event in Korean history and the attention to detail as it contributes to the overall presentation, from costumes to set design and the intricate detail of portraying all the figures involved is quite striking. Park Hae-il's portrayal of Yi Sun-shin is very well done. The section towards the end of the film describing the details of the military strategy and also the chain of command in the Joseon naval forces sets the stage for the final battle, for which the cinematography is exceptional.
