As someone who didn't grow up with the original series, I must say X-men'97 has been Amazing so far.
The animation is so smooth and bold, a seamless blend of 3D and 2D animation that really looks beautiful (much better than the OG animation tbh).
The action scenes are crisp and exhilarating, I especially loved the way they used Cyclops and Storm's powers in the First episode. The original intro is also utilised well in these fight scenes.
The writing in the first two episodes is shockingly good. Already has some of my favourite dialogues out of Any MCU show.
I loved the characterisation of every character, in particular Cyclops and Jeans storyline and their concerns of their unborn child was really endearing. Jubilee, Beast and Wolverine are also really fun to watch. The interactions between all the X-men feel very natural, they do act like a real family/team which I really missed seeing after the Endgame era ended.
My only major concern is that Disney fired the show runner, really hope that decision doesn't affect the quality of the upcoming episodes.
As of now, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and looking forward to the next episode. If the makers can maintain this quality of writing and animation then I think X-men 97 can easily become a cult classic for the newer generations much like the Original show was in the 90s.
