It’s a beautifully done movie. Lovely costumes, dramatic and sad backstory, and a change of events from the traditional version. Now, young Cinderella naiively believes she can save the kingdom from her cruel stepmother. This was intended to be a woman takes charge of her destiny scenario, but unfortunately, it plays out in a terribly written storyline.
Lily James plays the part marvelously. Disney did well to cast her. But there is an amazing lack of other races represented in the movie. 2015, and the movie is 99% white, 1% black, and 0% Latino or Asian or Native? Astonishing.
