The kids will like the music and dancing and the pretty scenery...and that is pretty much the whole movie. There was no plot, no real character development, no hard choices or sacrifices made by the main character. The whole thing was about a magic candle that appeared out of nowhere because? Or was it actually the magic door knobs in the magic house that made the magic? Or was the magic butterflies? Or maybe Bruno's visions? I understand that they where trying to capture Columbian culture and its "magic realism" but it felt contrived and lazy, as it was really just a bunch of forgettable characters singing forgettable songs in a movie best forgotten.
