Frustrating show with poorly thought-out plots. The writers are not bothered to take care of details.
Some of the irks in the drama
- The male protagonist (a policeman) and his partner (with a gun), not having any authority. Instead, they let others walk all over them. The Resident Representative seems to hold more power during a zombie apocalypse lock-down than a police officer.
- The doctor who murdered his wife and attempted to infect everyone else is arrested and then simply allowed to walk free again without any explanation. The doctor confesses his crime of trying to get everyone infected, but both protagonists does not bother to inform anyone or detain him.
- Taking the drug called NEXT will turn people into zombies, and the apartment being barricaded is because it is found to be the place where Next was distributed. The male protagonist is aware of this, but does not even bother to tell the group about this drug in order to prevent people from unwittingly consuming it.
- A small group of people running out of water within a matter of 3 days despite filing up their own bathtubs with water. They also seem to be consuming a whole lot of food. No matter how much food and water they find/get, a few scenes later, everyone is arguing for more.
- Lieutenant Colonel handling the Crisis Management Center (that has an army at his disposal) trying to kidnap the female protagonist (all by himself) just to get a sample of her blood, which she has already agreed to freely provide.
- One by one each character takes turn making baseless accusations and manages to get everybody to believe them.
- Both protagonists are more than happy to sacrifice themselves for the group, even though time and time again the group turns on them. Basically, almost everyone in the group is an antagonist and the protagonists until the end still risks everything trying to help these people.
- The main antagonist, which is a murderer on the run, having no reason whatsoever, starts killing people. He gains absolutely nothing by killing anyone. His character arc is just trying to put in a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” moment.
- At the end the virus issue gets resolved and no trace of zombies seen, but no explanation given.
Seems like the way the show tries to make the protagonists likeable is to make everyone else very unlikable.
In conclusion, this drama is the epitome of frustration, but it has a happy ending though.
