Jokers grim reality of mental health and the environment of the forgotten resonates throughout. Stunning performance by Joaquin Phoenix in a role where doing it differently and well to anything you’ve seen before is easier said than done. More graphic than I thought it would be but that adds to the horrors of the story unfolding. 4/5
