I’m not sure whether I’m a right-winger or not but one thing I can say for sure that I’m definitely not woke nor left nor a pseudo-liberal. Yet I enjoyed every bit of this series. 😁 Plus when I see that staunch right folks or nationalists or Hindu conservatives do oppose this series labelling it as hinduphobic I feel pity for them. Because it’s not even a fiction. The story has a very high degree of uncanny resemblance with Ram Rahim baba’s real life lore. So even if a hindu feels like this series mocks Hinduism, it does not. The story is not about a fake baba maligning Hinduism but is about how thousands and thousands of Hindus are still falling victims to such fake gurus so easily. The problem is with people not being able to differentiate between real vs fake gurus and when they do differentiate then not being able to take a stand against them directly or stand against their loved ones who have fallen prey to such fake babas. One thing I would say that even if the creators made this show with not-so-good intentions, this show exhibits a very high quality film making. Acting and direction is top notch. Must watch.

I watched only more than half till the Netflix’s real “Red” agenda started seeping in with full shamelessness. Still I noticed few symbologies related to “Red” in the first half of the movie, - The “left” wing, sorry left arm in protagonist wakes up when he becomes Shyam - The blood is always bleeding off from “right” ear when he becomes Shyam - Judge wearing “Red” in his dress which is not in dress code. My hope in justice system is restored after seeing The Color of Justice i.e. Red - “This is not Rigveda’s age, this is ‘Leftist’ India, (again sorry bad subtitles) modern India” - Naxalbari as one of Shyam’s book - The Marxist symbol on Shyam’s book and SR publication - Devdasi culture happening in Bengal. Bengalis will kill you, (sorry, only) right-wing Bengalis will kill you for showing women being dasi of priest in the land of The Devi - Rosie an non-Hindu name of the girl being held as dasi in the temple - Priest, sorry Hindu Pedophile Priest asking a minor devdasi to sleep with him - Priest circling Janeu (sacred thread) with left hand around his ear. And don’t forget, he peed on the heroine after that Long Live Red Laal Salaam ✊🏼🚩
