The game is beautiful but excessively difficult and frustratingly unforgiving. This feels like the Dark Souls of racing games. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been gaming for years and don’t mind a challenge but I think I’ve won one race…and I’m playing on easy. T this would be sad if I was a bad gamer but I’m middle of the road, it shouldn’t be that much of a struggle. The AI is excessively aggressive and NFS has always had that annoying rubber banding issue but in this one it’s almost comically horrible; be happy if you crack top 3. In addition the payouts start out really low, especially if you lose a side bet and are only placing top 5. So it feels like a grind to save money or get new cars - if I wanted it to be like real life I’d just walk outside and feel poor. The cops are over the top, this city must have 3 cops for everyone one person in the game city because no matter where you are, there are no less than 3 cop cars on each block. Oh and want to change your car out so you can do a B race, A race, or be prepared for a mostly off road or on road course? Denied. The car you pick for the day/night is all you get and Channing will progress the calendar. NFS Heat was so much better balanced. Aside from the graphics, this game is a big let down.
