I truly found it difficult to understand how easily the family was manipulated by the "family friend". Not sure if it was the way it was portrayed or the writing of the script, but I found the acting to be not so great. I found the friend creepy and not sure why this family didn't find the manipulator creepy too. And I don't care what year it was or how naive you are.. how does a 12 year old believe that story about aliens or why she never questioned why brother b kept telling her not to touch or let her father touch her. Not sure why he didn't just sell his flower shop and move away for his daughter to get a fresh start. Why the father continued to let the family friend overrun his decisions.

I have to say I'm not a big billy Porter fan. But the topic and reviews made me want to give the movie a chance. But just couldn't get past Porter. Not sure if it was his acting, the character, his raspy voice, or something else, but really had trouble watching the whole movie. It was an okay movie. It maybe would have been better if we had seen how these two main characters had forged their relationship.

Way too much time singing in the boy band. I found it hard to understand their connection besides sex. I didn't really see what they saw in each other except physical attraction. The movie does little to expound on that. The pool scene was ridiculous. Why would she want to hang out with these young people? Seriously they had them eating popsicles? I love Anne Hathaway but not this role for her. He just really does come across as some young privileged singer and not really understanding any deep meaningful attraction between the two of them. Everything is glossed over with musical montages.

Expected better from a great cast. But the lack of color to denote the depressed region and the lack of dialogue makes for so slow moving. I just can't stay with it. It moves too slow. I just don't care about what happens to any character.

It's the lack of dialogue that annoys me. It's a lot of the main characters just sitting and staring. Sorry, but I don't know what their stares are trying to convey to me. I'll stick with it despite now having to deal with commercials in the later episodes. But probably will just go read the book oh and also annoyed with having to wait another week for a new episode. The reason I stream is to binge watch. So give me the entire season at one time!

What a waste of time. I thought with Julianne moore and Natalie portman this has to be good. But it wasn't. Not sure what the point of the story is. It's a story about learning about a story, but the telling of this story was meandering and pointless. No likeable characters and not enough examination into any character.

Moves slowly. I didn't feel or connect with whatever emotions I was supposed to feel from these characters. The movie did a poor job giving the viewer insight to these characters psyche. And they are both English so why set this in the US? It was weird watching them working hard to keep American accents. And there was no sex appeal between them.

I really enjoyed this series. I really enjoyed the twist at the end. I did enjoy the Reacher movies with Tom Cruise. But also enjoyed the new Reacher. It does have some pretty gruesome murder scenes. So be warned against some scenes.

Very slow and pretty boring. Sticking with it, it becomes quite depressing portraying a divorced middle aged woman in her everyday life. Julianne Moore acting is superb as always. We never feel too sorry for her character. But we feel sorry for her mundane life and lack of real love or deep relationships.

I don't get all the hype and clearly don't understand how this won best picture. If I had seen this in the theater, I would have walked out and demanded a refund. I am really trying to give this a chance, but it's just too weird.
