I can't lie, this anime was a weird one - love hate relationship with this. I understand there's more to the anime as it wasn't an accurate adaption of the manga (especially season 2 which is not based on it at all).
Throughout the anime, there's a lot of holes and poor character development. You are left wondering why did he/she do this, why have we been introduced with this character, why is this guy beating up the protagonist so easily. Additionally, there's a lot of skips too. Quite a few times you won't see who killed who but the character would be dead. It is just overall weird and poor character and story development - IN THE ANIME.
I haven't read the manga and probably won't for a while but have heard good things about everyone who has read it. If you have the luxury of dedicating your time to read manga, defo read Tokyo Ghoul.
