Watched Unplanned this weekend. I have been asked how was it? POWERFUL TRUTH! I wasn’t sure what to expect. Even being a pro-life person this movie is sobering. It didn’t judge the women or mothers or the workers and neither do I. It was just the straightforward truth. A truth I thought I knew, and I did, but not fully. It was fair and balanced. Not cheesy, the acting was great. It is a very educational movie that I think all teenagers should see. I think everyone should see this movie. If you are going to make choices such as these then you should be educated and know the truth. You can’t make informed decisions otherwise. Yes people know what abortion is but it is entirely different seeing it visualized. Trust me, it will stay with you. There is also a lot more to the movie other than the mechanics of the actual abortion procedures. It is about a woman’s personal journey with not only her own abortions but her 8 years spent working at Planned Parenthood and working in the abortion industry and what she experienced. The truth behind the “curtains”. It exposes the lies being sold by PP. It also shows both sides and the problems on both sides. It’s about love, forgiveness, redemption, hope, reality, truth, and it’s raw. I could hear the quiet weeping of others in the theater and by the end we all were sitting silent and weeping. No one moved to leave when the credits started rolling. We sat there until the lights came one. I am not sure why the others sat but I was too stunned to move. I couldn’t process what I was feeling or what I had just seen. It broke my heart.
Please just know if anyone ever needs someone who will listen with no judgement there are people out there. People who love you. A father in heaven who loves you.
