Horrible show that acts as though Kenobi has forgotten how to use the force entirely in just ten years. I could forgive it, if previous SW content did not directly contradict it. If yoda can stay powerful for 19 years while chilling in a swamp, why is obi wan struggling so much? he's one of the greatest force users of all time.
Not only that, but sh*tsney has now set a precedent with rey, that in just a few hours time, anybody in star wars can become powerful enough in the force to use the forces' most difficult tricks (i.e. Jedi mind trick) so why would I EVER believe that an experienced user had lost touch so much that a simple force grab is a challenge?
This isn't even mentioning the horrific Leia character that sounds like she was written by a 35 year old that was bullied in middle school and still has a chip on her shoulder about it. A ten year old cannot speak in long winded philosophical statements like that, not even a star wars character.
Also not to mention the host of problems that making Leia and obi wan interact creates. Like "why don't they remember each other in ANH" or "How can Leia learn the truth about her parents if she never knew at the start of ANH" ect.
NOT TO MENTION why is everybody still looking the same age as the end of ep 3? Tattooine is suppose to rapidly speed aging, and at this point in the show we are over halfway to Alec Guinness, and Ewan McGregor still looks the same, as well as uncle Owen. This might seem like a nitpick, but would it really be that hard to throw a couple of makeup wrinkles on them, and spray a little grey into ewans hair? Especially considering how much work they'll put into a luke Skywalker deepfake just so he won't look like a different actor, and just so they can bank on even more nostalgia dollars.
NOT TO MENTION that this show breaks important star wars continuity (that was laid out in 1977) just to give us a duel between vader and obi wan that is one of the worst duels of all time. Where Vader and obi wan alike both forget very obvious techniques, like "jumping" and "walking AROUND the fire" or even "aim for the body parts with your lightsaber". You can go on about how obi wan is losing his abilities and the duel is to show him fighting for his life. But it doesn't change how ridiculous, and pandering it is because
THE FACT is that the executives at Disney wanted their nostalgia dollars from obi wan, but his story is already entirely complete. So what do they do? Tear him down to build him up again in the exact same way that we've seen done before, only we've seen it done so much better. And destroying vital star wars continuity as they do it.
So yeah it's really bad.
