This story broke me in all the most beautiful ways. I was so moved by the entire novel and it played in my head like a film I didn't want to end.
I wept, sobbed, laughed, rejoiced and felt butterflies as Dalton seemed to know exactly what to write. I listened to the audio version first then re-read it as I missed all of the artist drawings that appear at the opening of chapters.
Phenomenal and so much in this. We've all danced the "tyranasours waltz" at some point in our lives, and the ripple effects of this violence and the dark and shade offered in this novel is profound. The family messages in this novel went straight to my heart particularly the sisters focus.
Highly recommend. You've outdone yourself, Mr. Dalton.
I hope some production company picks this up and turns it into a limited television series. What a bloody story and what an addition to the canon of Australian literature 10/10.
