Talented cast let down by poor script and utterly incompetent direction. Like an SNL script that got trashed and fished out of the garbage in a futile attempt to make some fast money.

Sharp dialogue and characters one cheers for are reminiscent of the "Thin Man" movies in charm, wit, and plot.

The metaphor behind this is clear, but the heartbreaking, and understandable, rift between two old friends takes precedence. A lesser writer would have smacked us in the face with it, but the writing is crisp and the actors utterly in tune. Sad but well worth the watch. But not a date film!!
