Such an excellent story line, but...(to be continued)
So many good performances, great direction and editing. It's a comedy with an improbable situation but we can accept that, given it's a comedy. Forget whether it has a moral. But it's the CONCLUSION where the scriptwriters fail.
For the first three quarters of the film, I was unashamedly engrossed. I fell for all of it. The principals (Hoffman, Davis, Garcia) were wonderful. But the last quarter of the story goes haywire. It seemed rushed, ill-contrived, not well thought-out.
Too bad. It might not have bombed, but could have been a classic like Tootsie.
