I've been an Avenged Sevenfold fan for quite some time, and as much as it pains me to say this; I didn't like this album all that much. Mainly because of the style of this particular album. It reminded me a lot instrument-wise of Pink Floyd or the Beatles with a bit of metal mixed in. And I'm really not a fan of Pink Floyd or the Beatles super trippy style of rock. That being said, I did like the deep subject material of this album and the story it tells. And I can tell that the band definitely put a lot of work into it. That's why I'm giving this album a 3 out of five stars. This is one of those albums that you will either really like, or really not care for. For me, aside from Cosmic and Easier: I couldn't get into the style of this album. I do appreciate Avenged Sevenfold giving us something new, and I look forward to their future works.
