*Spoiler-free opinion of Scream 2022*.
I was ten when the very first Scream was released in 96' and of course my dad let me watch it LOL... and I watched the other two in the original trilogy when they released in theaters, so yes, I'm a very old millennial who appreciates ACTUALLY good horror movies because I remember when actually good horror movies existed lol.
Imo Vanderbilt did a really great job staying true to Wes Craven's legacy. I was expecting garbage because of the fecal matter pile that Scream 4 was, but I was surprised by this one. It was good. I pegged one of the killers in the very beginning because I knew that's what Wes did, he would always show you at least one of the killers within the first 10-15 or so minutes of the movie. That was well played by Vanderbilt in keeping with one of Wes's favorite elements. The suspense was really good and kept you questioning your guesses. My only complaint about the movie is one of the characters Vanderbilt killed off. That stung lol, but otherwise a really good movie. 4 stars from me.
