A truly groundbreaking and seminal film which is as relevant to this date as it would be 100's of years ago. Anubhav sinha deserves all the accolades he can get for his trimurti of films after his enlightenment wherein he has directed some of the best films ever made in Hindi cinema. Mulk,Article 15 and now Thappad truly hats off. Taapsee as usual is a delight and is simply one of the best actresses around in India.

After films like Gold, Padman and Mission Mangal, Akshay champions another crucial cause in the form of sensitising people about transgender issues and also about interfaith marriages. Will be interesting to see how his core base of bhakts react to his being a Muslim in the film who marries a Hindu.

This is truly a fantastic film coupled w sterling performances by Aayush and ofc Hindustan's Bhaijaan. The bgm stands out and surprisingly relevant issues of farmer's exploitation by big MNCs and corporate Lackey politicians *ahem* Adani bootlickers are portrayed quite well in the film. Kisan Mazdoor Ekta Zindabad. Salman Khan proves his mettle by showcasing real spine unlike other Canadian stars who simply play reel Sikh characters but have zero redeeming Sikh qualities in real life.
