I have a lot to say about this movie, but I will shorten the manifesto I've been writing in my head for the last hour.
This movie was so cringey it physically hurt to watch.
I have no other way of describing it other than making a mockery of the Jewish faith. The "rabbi" calling god "random", not seriously answering the kids questions, not explaining things at all to the kids who seem to know nothing about their religion, and in general acting like a buffoon was sad and painful to watch. A rabbi can be fun, and modern, and even a woman, but they should also be a source of knowledge, and respected within the community. They shouldn't be singing about their yeast infection, number 2, or exercise while talking about serious things with the Yong teens they are supposed to guide.
I really hope people don't watch this movie and think it represents the Jewish people, faith or culture.
Besides that, the main character and her best friend are unlikeable (like most characters in this movie), and it is very hard to try to root for them or identify with them.
As I've written above, I have a lot more to say about this movie, but the main conclusion is- don't waste your time.
(the 1 star is for Ido Mosseri 👑💯)
