This is one of the best movies I have watched in a long time across many languages.
I’m no expert in film making, so I can’t relate with any technical shortcomings the movie had.
Also, regarding the negative reviews based on the final verdict, if the guy was aware of the girl's assumption and did not clarify his intentions, it could be interpreted as tacit agreement or manipulation, adding weight to the girl's perspective.
However, the absence of explicit verbal promises or commitments regarding marriage means the guy cannot be held accountable for not fulfilling an unspoken expectation.
Both the accused and the victim share responsibility for this complex situation, making the storyline well-crafted. I didn’t anticipate the judgement to be in favour of any particular side, so I would just respect the writer’s conviction.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the performances and would love to see Tovino and Keerthi on screen again.
