This is without a doubt one of my favorite movies of all time. The dialogue is unique and the cinematography is captivating. It’s like Moby Dick with the suspense and horror of Jaws. Better watch it before the cancel culture gets their entitled little hands on it , there’s a lot of depictions of racism against Native Americans but they need to be there to illustrate Hickok’s overcoming them to become brothers with Worm ( crazy horse). So interesting how both characters are each operating under a pseudonym , Hickok to throw his enemies off his scent and Crazy Horse to wear his Shame over allowing the “white buff” to win the soul of his child. The pacing is Hitchcock perfect. The fake sets are charmingly conceived and there are many scenes unlike any I have ever seen in any movie. There are many many unique qualities to This film and this is another sad example of rotten Tom being way way off. If you haven’t seen this yet get ready to discover a true cinema gem.
