It was interesting to hear white people discussing the film afterward. Their focus was on Korean people. They were distracted by the cultural difference rather than seeing these characters experience as universal to all humans, and relevant to anyone's life experience. I Identified completely with the characters and their life experience. We are meant to experience their emotions and re-visit and re-consider similar experiences from our own lives. I was reminded of a high school sweetheart, and how we had to part ways when he went off to college. If you appreciate good film, with artistry and depth, you will love this film as I do. The pace was not too slow at all, the pauses, and extended glances, and closeups of watery eyes, are the film maker's way of showing how the characters yearn to be together. This film is perfection.
