Missed opportunity , focuses more on cgi than sound/voicing. The actors voices don't sound like they are coming from characters and some are jarring ( like overly loud young simba). Little emotion is projected by the animals or the actors voices and it just leaves you not caring about the characters. The greatest acting by far done by the actors who voice Rafiki and Shenzi, which brings to question why not have actual African or African born actors rather than a mostly American cast? The movie is based in Africa after all ?

Really intense, as a mum I couldn't stop watching had to make sure the children got out alright 😅 Pierce Brosnon was a bit out of place but that's the only criticism I can make. I wouldn't classify the film as racist as some reviews have claimed... but worth watching to make your own decision.
