I liked this movie! Fresh change of pace from endless high action scenes, little thought or plot, and no human element. I found this to be good drama, thought provoking, and leading me to ask where can I buy the book? I would like a to see a sequel or mini series. A similar reaction I had to the film "Logan's Run" and shows like "TWD" and "Stargate" I want to find out more! Did any of the others survive? Did the ship make it back? What caused the problem on earth? I believe this could lead to a strong series if the same direction is followed. Similar series like "The 100" and "Z Nation" got off track, weird, and lost touch with the drama of real human elements. This movie has kept me thinking about human survival, human drive, and human consequences. I would watch more like this, and I am going to read the book, digging for more insight and answers about these characters and their choices, their drive! I liked "The Martian" because it was human, had grit, and determination that made it plausible. Midnight Sky showed the main character may not have been there for his daughter in the early part of her life, but he and his work provided for her future and the future of her family. For human kind. I really liked BSG as well for most of it's drama and action. I liked the beginning and the end. It got a little lost in the middle. I would love to see the human drama continue there as well for BSG. Hopefully the new series will deliver. I will watch this movie again. I don't normally watch many shows over again. This is one of the ones that will be worth it.
