Danny Bates

I haven’t watched a movie of this genre since Platoon. But after seeing it recommended for its cinematography, I started watching and latched on to the story. I certainly didn’t expect to be so interested but was pleasantly surprised.

I wasted almost two hours watching this, which leaves me no time for this review.

Though the cinematography lured me to give it a chance, Elle’s character intrigued me to stick around until the end. Not my typical genre, but I enjoyed the break from predictable storylines. And yes, it is a visual detour from the mainstream. Unfortunately, the last fifteen minutes appear as if written by a totally different author than the rest of the film. A bad ending to an otherwise alluring story. Her diving board speech was out of character, not believable, arrogant. Everything that followed was uninspired. You had me until then.

If only they had created a pulse and a personality for the two main characters, I might be able to recommend it. Otherwise, the movie appears to work as a sedative.
