THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER WANTED. I HAVE AND WILL TALK ABOUT THIS BOOK TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN. AND I WOULD REREAD IT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE AND NEVER ONCE PUT IT DOWN IF I COULD. I'M ALWAYS THINKING ABOUT THIS BOOK. I LIE AWAKE AT NIGHT THINKING ABOUT THIS BOOK AND I FALL ASLEEP DREAMING ABOUT THIS BOOK. the representation is everything. the dedication alone brings me to tears and warms my heart. as a muslim wlw, having a lesbian muslim as the main character means the world to me. and for her to be bengali too!! she falls in love with a brazilian black bi girl and guess what? it's enemies to lovers. i love this book beyond words. i have never cried more at the feeling of being understood by a book in my life. this book also continues to discuss , with great understanding, homophobia, racism and cultural appropriation. and the author adiba jaigirdar , NOW MY FAVORITE AUTHOR EVER ALL THE LOVE TO HER, went beyond and back to show authentically what it's like being a muslim lesbian bengali woman as she is one herself. i wish i could stress enough how much i love this book and how badly i hope to support adiba jaigirdar in anyway as she is so very underrated. the henna wars is my comfort book, i have cried so many tears during each coming out scene and will forever hold dear every page of the henna wars. this book will live with me in my memories for as long as i stay on this world. no matter how many other things i read that i may come to love just as much this book will always have a special place in my heart. so if this somehow reaches adiba jaigirdar i want you to know how much i love you and appreciate you for writing something i and millions of others will cherish. in your interviews and summerries and marketing of this book you mentioned how your younger self could've never imagined writing and publishing a successful book featuring wlw pic representation, with a muslim character. well adiba here i am , as the youngest ill be for now. and i want to let you know that young me gets to have a book that resonates so deeply with them it brings them to tears, that shows them that there is still hope and that gives them immense comfort. and it's all because of you. to anyone else who will read this. i hope you give this book a shot. i hope you can support the author in anyway i can't . and if not. i hope you lend this book to someone who might be in need of it, and i hope you get to have your own book that makes feel seen just as much.
