Ranveer Singh's performance in the movie Is commendable as he effectively holds the entire film together with his accent and acting.
However, the story Itself is quite clichd and lacks believability, especially for modern audiences, particularly with Alia Bhatt's character as a news anchor from a family with a Bengali accent that doesn't seem authentic. Unlike Ranveer, Alia doesn't put in much effort to master the accent.
The romantic scenes between Shabana
Azmi & Dharmendra appears rather funny than entertaining, and the chemistry between Alia & Ranveer seems forced by the director. The film lacks a backstory to explain the rift between Jaya and Dharmendra, leaving unanswered questions about her actions over the years and Tijori's lack of common sense.
While Karan Johar is known for bringing life to songs, unfortunately, the movie's songs fail to leave a lasting impact.
Nevertheless, the film impresses with its grand sets and costumes.
Ultimately, it is Ranveer's acting and humorous dialogue that hold the film together, as the director's story prevails throughout.
I honestly walked out disappointed.
