They are positioning the Escape Room series to become the PG-13 version of Saw... You really didn't care about the storyline, you just want to see what crazy traps (or in this case, rooms) they could come up with... Also, just like Saw, we are moving away from the "everybody can survive as long as they have the will to live" to this movie legitimately having a "Kill Room." IE: The NYC TAXI room is designed for only one person to survive, regardless of how many actually begin the room. If it's summer break, you must do an escape room...
