There are so many words you could use to describe this documentary, raw, courageous, heartfelt, inspiring, revealing, devestating, hopeful, harrowing, moving & loving, but yet NONE of these words do Celine or the documentary justice, because it’s so much more than all those things. You find yourself not only watching, but living the highs & lows & cheering Celine on through all the wonderful things she’s achieved, whilst simultaneously wanting to embrace her through the hardship, wishing that you could take it all away for her, but at no point what so ever do you feel pity & she doesn’t ask for it. The rawness of this documentary is outstanding, the glitz & glamour of show business has been stripped away leaving a portrait of a woman who beyond anything else is nothing but herself, just Celine.
Whether you’re a fan or not, you can’t help but admire her. There is so much power in vulnerability & you see that in this documentary. The awareness this will bring for SPS & the impact it will have for the sufferers will be nothing but positive. It will bring understanding to the wider public of a condition that lives in the darkness.
Everyone who worked on this film should
be so proud as it’s beautifully shot & more than anyone, Celine should be proud of herself. All you can really say is thank you Celine for always being who you are, & for expressing yourself in a way that breaks down barriers & allows people to relate.
