I am getting ready to read "Ride the Wind" for the fifth time. This book has haunted my soul, in such a good way. I cannot describe how I felt when I first read it, except that it touched me in so many ways. The fact that it is based on a true story made it even more meaningful to me. I had the opportunity to visit Palo Duro Canyon in 1988, and it was indescribable. I felt like I could see the teepees of the Comanche in amongst the canyons.
I have read 5 other of St. Clair Robson's books, all fascinating, but I have to say that Cynthia Ann's story is still my favorite.
