Overly long perhaps but rewarding and hypnotic, much like Barry Lyndon, if you can stick with it. I wondered whether a film about this incident would hold me but it drew me in. Choosing to make Waterloo veteran John Lees a central character seemed a good move. Some familiar faces in this film, including Martin Savage from Extras.

I loved this book. Enthralling, well written and researched. Very interesting to learn of the lives of those who took part, especially John Lees for whom the film 'Peterloo' brought me to buy this book. The section on the Rothschilds was quite an eye opener. One very small criticism is that the line that is the book's title ('scum of the earth') gets repeated perhaps a little too often but otherwise a super read.

Disappointing, especially for the big names and money involved. Fictitious story inspired by interviews and photographs of Outlaws MC. Story is not believable. Characters don't earn much empathy. Tom Hardy is good however. Some actors also seemed way too old.
