I think it’s not easy to create an album that sounds fresh and relevant these days, but trust Doja can do it.
She has a way to really reinvent the wheel whilst referencing eras in music before like ‘Paint the town red’ using Dionne Warwicks - Walk on By.
She fits perfectly into our generation as we stray away from the bubblegum over tuned pop we have been fed. The angst is back in society and she expresses this.
The album is certainly a lot less poppy than Hot Pink but still keeps those soft euphoric vocals she’s known for, despite going down a more rap route.
My top songs are Agora Hills, Wet Vagina, Demons, Paint the town red, Attention and Gun.
The others take a little more to get into but never the less are still great in their own way. I think some will grow on me over time.
