The timing of this romcom is perfect! I didn't know how much I needed it until binging over every scene and line. The conversations they had felt very real and how they communicated to each other was THE relationship goal!! I could only wish every couple would take inspiration in communicating the way they did. The idea of also not settling because of age is inspiring. Plus, still pushing to put yourself out there makes it relatable to those who are still looking for their partner in life.

This film is a must watch!! It's such an insightful movie and it's definitely more than a love story. -- Backing my claim on how this is not your ordinary romcom -- The latest romantic comedy I would vouch for is "Crazy, Stupid, Love" (2011) For me, nothing has topped it yet. (Yes, not even Crazy Rich Asians.) Including local films, at the top of mind, It'll still be One More Chance (2007) and Kimmy Dora (2009). But then, I've only seen a few local films as I'm pretty sure I wouldn't enjoy it enough due to the “kilig” clichés and overused “hugot” one-liners. But this film is original and truly an exception!! I'm not putting any details here because I don't want to spoil the movie but this is definitely going to my list of Top 3 favorite movies of all time.

3 stars because of the anticlimactic Finale, but I would still recommend this show to chefs and foodies. The sportsmanship, craft and passion of every White Spoon and dedication of every Black Spoon will leave you drooling for a taste of their food. It is like watching them make art, and to be able to taste it would have been a great experience. I sincerely envy the judges and it just makes me want to try Edward Lee's future restaurant/s in Korea. Yes, Edward Lee. Black Spoon Matfia? I'm sure the dishes he cooks are great! Who am I to discredit the experienced tongues of the judges. But some things about the show felt undercooked: 1. The even numbers of black spoons vs white spoons feels very scripted. 2. To wait and reveal the name of the black spoon up to the very end does not help the black spoon make a name for himself. For a global audience, it is very hard to remember a Korean Name. Since the name was only mentioned at the Final Round... i'm sorry but I still know him as Matfia. Suggestion: it would have been nice to have known their names before the semi-finals because even if they reveal the name and not make it to the end.. It will sadly still be easily forgotten. A name recall would really help the black spoon chefs as they enter the semi-finales. 3. The semi-finals and final round should have been re-ordered. Currently the order of the semi-finals to finals were: Semi Finals: Round 1: Signature Dish Round 2: Cooking Hell Finale: Your name at stake (hence the name of the black spoon was only revealed at this point) If I can make a suggestion to the producers... Semi Finals: Round 1: Signature Dish AND DESSERT Round 2: Your name at stake With the judges giving a score to 3 items - dish, dessert and name at stake... then eliminate 2 chefs with the lowest score.. I've added Dessert as a component because the winner should be well rounded. Finale: Cooking Hell Mission To Summarize: If the Finale was the Cooking Hell mission between Triple Star and Edward Lee and Matfia, I would have given this show 5 stars. I wanted to know if Matfia would even get to the top 3 out of Cooking Hell Mission. 1 White Spoon vs 2 Black Spoons at the Finale? or 2 White Spoons vs 1 Black Spoon.. or even just 2 White Spoons would still have been a better Finale. vs a forced 1 Black Spoon and 1 White Spoon.
