It is a good classic Malay film, one of the best from the day. It depicts the true class bias of the old Malays; how the so called 'Royal' blood and their rank views and treats the working class and peasants. An issue common in the old Russian and England world.
The protagonist was played by the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee, who himself was a very talented musician and actor. Most songs he wrote and sung are icons of the Malay pop culture, even lines from his movies are to remain and requoted to these days. Unfortunate that the songs and music are slowly vanishing, consumed by modern sounds and genre.
