Almost a perfect movie for its type. There’s massive setups and payoffs to site one example.. The only real flaw( and you almost have to go looking for it) is when Chris, Sarah, Brad and Darrel end up in emergency with Handsome John Pruit whos escaped from the bk of the police car.. Since the police were involved, the car - Chrisis moms, would have been impounded as evidence , putting an end to Object of Desire 1, retrieving Chris’s neurotic best friend,Brenda, from the Chicago d.T bus station.
It’s interesting don’t you think, how it’s similar and dissimilar at the same time to Ferris Buelers day off?. Roger Ebert called it Ferris sisters day off or something.
Did you notice at the end when the super hot guy pulls up in the Anderson drive way to return Sarah’s roller skate( it has her name tag) and then they- Chris that is, kiss ? The guys timing has to be impeccable otherwise defeat is wrestled from the jaws of victory. He returns the skate to Mrs. Anderson instead.Gulp!
Double gulp… potentially. If Chris hadn’t stumbled across Mike D$&Kwell I call him, with his flush at the fancy French restaurant, if they only made one more stop to pick up Brenda, what do you think might have happened? Either the chief villain grabs em then and there. Or, he follows them home , waits for his oportunity, and scrapes off all their faces. You think?
