The book was good. I dont think you necessarily need to read The Maze Cutter or The Godhead Complex with the original trilogy and The Kill Order and Fever Code. Although if you are bored, I don’t see why not. I did like how they honored the legacy characters though so that was a plus. The plot could’ve been better put together (it was hard to follow at times) but it was readable.

I just finished reading Crank Palace: A Maze Runner Novella and it was so emotional. It was actually worse than The Death Cure like i literally cant.. Newt is one of my favs from the series and it was amazing and sad to get his perspective. I definitely recommend this if you are a fan of the series.

Great book. I am starting to read the ‘The Maze Runner’ now. The Fever Code definitely was suspenseful and had a lot of twists and turns. I liked learning more about WICKED and the flare. I am also glad to have a better understanding of the characters before jumping into the original three book series.

I enjoyed the book. I decided to start reading the maze runner series with the kill order first. I wanted to read the books in chronological order. The flare is so scary and low key relatable to todays events (COVID 19). It was very sad when Mark and Trina embraced each other getting DeeDee to rescue. Alec was another enjoyable character, too. I am currently reading The Fever Code and I just got to the chapter where it revealed DeeDee is Teresa, which blew my mind because I always had a thought that Teresa could be DeeDee from the kill order. In all, I love a good origin story. I can’t wait to finish the series and watch the movies after reading the books.
