I've been playing Football Manager since the 90s, and throughout the years, each edition has brought its own evolution. Sometimes subtle, sometimes daring. Football Manager 26 clearly has potential under the new engine, and I genuinely appreciate the ambition behind this transition.
However, the current state of the user interface makes the experience feel far from fluid or enjoyable. The menus, navigation flow, and overall layout feel unintuitive and disconnected from the natural pace of squad management and match preparation. Instead of enhancing immersion, it often disrupts it. For the first time since I started playing this series in 1995, I found myself requesting a refund.
I truly hope the team can refine and rebuild the essence that once made Football Manager such a uniquely compelling and instinctive experience. There is a foundation here worth developing, but as it stands, it’s simply not ready. I’ll be watching with hope that future updates or editions bring the series back to its best.
