While the quality of acting top to bottom and period sets were top notch, the movie overall was entirely too long for such a basic plot. I'm not going to reveal what that is so I don't spoil it for those that have not seen it but I figured out the plot and had a good idea of the ending within the first 15 minutes of the movie. That's not always a bad thing but it just took way too long to get there unnecessarily. It was like watching the Irishman all over again and seems like Martin is now making these slow crawl movies. Very predictable story which is OK but just get there faster. I kept waiting for some plot twist or surprise to make it worth the wait but it never came. Worth watching but far from the masterpiece others are claiming it to be.

About 5 minutes into Episode 1 it felt like I was watching a cast of actors still in acting school. Overdramatic facial expressions, slow steady talking and over pronunciation of words... It's comparable to watching a really bad network show that gets cancelled before the season is even over. Giving it 2 stars so I don't get accused of review bombing and also because I didn't make it past 5 minutes to judge the entire series. I just know there are so many better options to watch that I was not going to spend another minute on this.
