The book is completely outdated for the 21st century. Moreover, it lacks anything specific about self-love; everything is presented through the lens of marriage. It's a book about marriage and its stages of development. It contains old-fashioned patriarchal advice, recommendations to turn to God (in the second part, the theme of God will be more prevalent and continues until the end of the book), and a negative attitude towards abortions. Overall, I don't recommend wasting time on it or expecting food for thought from the book. You can listen to abstract discussions from friends; it will be more enjoyable.
