The Barbie movie startled me with its killer mix of artistic playfulness, integrity, intelligence, and heart. Yes, it's still a movie about a toy, but there is a telling amount of one-star reviews on here from folks who have a pretty rigid idea about the (angry) future of America and the (subordinate) place of girls. Unless you agree with them, you're probably going to enjoy this movie.
