Harari is always stimulating but this is a book with the voice of an excitable teenager. Ultimately it is naive in its faith in science and technology as the saviour of the human race. Written in 2016 he predicts an end to war and pandemics. How wrong can you be? Harari dismisses religion but his gods have not proved worth believing in.
