I’ve been a fan of the conjuring when it was James wans direction, afterwards it sort of lost its lighting especially the 3rd one. This one attempts to capture the same spark however falls short in terms of characters I’d actually care about apart from the warrens. The pacing is a bit poor, jumpscares and tension are mid and the overall plot is a bit of a forced full circle. However the film does win on nostalgia and heart. It’s worth a watch if you’re into this universe and must tick it off the list. Think my favourite part was the cameos at the end. See you next time for when I review the conjuring: resurrections.
