The story had lots of potential, with the religious angle it tried to capture too many things at the same time. Involving real life incidents could have worked pretty well but again it lacked direction. The editor too could have saved the movie but she lacked there too.
Jay oza did a good job with showing his skill set making Mumbai look good.
I don’t know why but the entire movie felt too pretentious, the dialogues and slangs felt too dated. To my surprise vijay Maurya from gully boy was the additional dialogue writer for this movie, he did a great job with gully boy but here the dialogues and slangs lacked research, No one talks like this in south Bombay gully.
Farhan’s transformation from fat to fit is admirable. He showed some good boxing skills too. But again the boxing dint feel authentic. I could make out that they are pretending to fight which made me lose interest in plenty of scenes.
Alan Amin did a very bad job with the action direction. A more professional boxer or boxer cum action director was needed for this movie.
Overall a good attempt to make a boxing film but failed miserably.
This might be a classic case of too many cooks spoil the dish.
