Having been a fan of the series since Borderlands 2 (I thought the original was quite a bit... drab) the ride has been fun. Borderlands 2 was really the peak of the games enjoyment although 3 is a great installment.
Let me just say this, the games overall look and feel is mightily improved. I would say freedom of movement is beyond the right words. Smooth and easy to pick up.
The game's graphical appeal is nothing short of fantastic. It looks amazing even in the bland atmosphere of dirt and brown.
The character design is flawless and they created some very interesting character choices to be sure.
The gameplay is familiar and yet somehow different. They added in some tactical elements like a slide that makes the games movement feel very in tune with itself. It's like they used Apex legends as a jumping off point for character movement and improved on it over all.
I can honestly say, we will never know if there are a billion guns but from the little of the game I've played, I've seen hundreds before level 10 so yeah... there's a lot and I am pretty sure there is an infinite amount as the game seems to be able to procedural generate new guns when it wants, an amazing ability to be sure.
If you are new to the franchise I would highly recommend picking up Borderlands 2 and then 3 as it will give you a good idea on the background of the game. If you just want to play a shooter with a ton of loot that places a high value on RPG elements, this is your Jam.
