A truly devastating, but enthralling book. The way that the story is told can be confusing, but it truly puts you into the headspace of Lex, Girl A. You are truly transported into a world full of heinous acts, and how as adults, the children have had to learn to live through it. Its defeating and not for the faint of heart, but incredibly brilliant. Half of me is upset with myself for being so involved in the story of life before the healing, and at the same time, I can’t help but to keep on reading. No spoilers but the sibling dynamic as adults is upsetting, especially with certain parts about a certain older sibling. And then the heart wrenching truth that you slowly come to realize before it’s fully revealed. I would not recommend this to persons who have faced abuse or have triggers associated with childhood trauma. But I do think this is an eye opener and a deep thinker. I will definitely be sitting on this one for a while and thinking a whole lot about Girl A.
